For each of the main goals — making data findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable — the FAIR Principles outline a set of conditions to be implemented. These are individually introduced, explained, and supplemented with recommendations for the stakeholders within the NFDI4Culture-communities.
The first step towards enabling humans and computers to reuse data is ensuring its findability. Machine-readable, comprehensive metadata is essential for automated discovery. Data and metadata must carry a globally unique and persistent identifier and be registered or indexed in searchable resources.
