Data publication
FAIR data and reproducible results are important objectives of NFDI4Culture. This data publication contains a set of statistics, data, and visualisations of key aspects of the consortium for the period 10/2020 to 09/2023. These findings are a result of the work on the progress report that NFDI4Culture submitted to the German Research Foundation (DFG) in September 2023. In terms of utility for our partners and communities, these visualisations and data sets possess a broader significance beyond the report. Adhering to the principles of Open Science, that is the reason we offer them as a data publication of its own, to be used in presentations, workshops, and other formats.
All data, statistics, and charts included in this publication are sourced from two systems: our internal NFDI4Culture reporting system and our public Culture Information Portal. All the charts have been created with RAWGraphs, an excellent open source visualisation tool. All source material is organised into nine subfolders within the pages folder of this data publication. For each visualisation there is one folder that includes the original data as CSV files, the RAWGraphs project files, and an SVG as well as a PNG export of each chart. The included scripts folder contains three documented Python scripts that have been used to process the data.
